Haven’t written anything in a while. Have a midterm on thursday that i’ve got to do some more studying for. Last night there was a hallowe’en party at one of the local clubs for people in some of the smaller residences at queen’s. I did the last minute toga thing. Actually got my computer assignment done and handed in before 8, that’s a first. It wasn’t too hard. That’s it for now.

Haven’t written anything in awhile. Had a computer midtermn yesterday, I’ve been busy studying for that. Also have a calculus quiz tonite, that i have to do some work for this afternoon. Psych midterm on friday, economics assignment due friday too. Lots of shit to keep me busy. Maybe, i’ll get around to doing a redesign of the site sometime. Also have to get the cam working again. It’s been out of commission for the last week or so, haven’t sat down and tried to figure it out.

Not a whole lot going down. Went out yesterday afternoon, finding my way around kingston on their bus system. Not the easiest system to use, but we had a map that we borrowed from the residence. We went to futureshop and value village. Picked up a spindle of blank cd’s and a new keyboard at future shop. My old keyboard was pissing me off. I was used to the soft touch keyboard we had at home, the one i got with my new computer was one of the old ones. I picked up the microsoft internet keyboard for $40. I was with another guy from my floor, and we found an old 8 track player at value village. We had to buy it and a couple old 8 tracks. Hours of fun. The 8 tracks we picked up were Jefferson Starship, Nat King Cole and some disco mix.
Spent the afternoon at the EngSoc Lounge, coming up with an article for the goldenwords. Hopefully it gets published. That’s it for now, i’m going to do some studying for my computer science midterm.

Finished my algebra assignment in good time last night, all ready to hand in for this morning. Also took intermitent breaks and watched usual suspects. I’d seen it before, it’s a damn good movie. Also went to a small meeting for golden words, an on-campus parody newspaper. Maybe i’ll do some writing, help out with layout, website, whatever.

Nothing due for tomorrow, yah! Not sure what all I’ll be up to tonite. Maybe some reading, maybe some webdesign. Probably some work on the computer. School’s been keeping me good and busy anyway. I’ll be back home in two weekends for commencement. The last hurrah for the highschool class of 2000. After that we probably wont all be together for anything, maybe a reunion in 25 years. We’ll be getting the yearbooks too, hard proof of the work i did last year.

I got my computer assignment handed in on time, woohoo! Only one more assingnment due this week, algebra. That means I can get caught up on some of the reading I have to do.

Not a whole lot going on. I’ve actually accomplished some work today. It was a guy on the floor’s birthday last night, so almost the entire floor went out to a restaurant, it was pretty cool. Ended up watching full metal jacket with a bunch of people when i got back. Working on a new web project with some people, should turn out pretty cool. That’s what we’re hoping anyway. Conform has kind of died off recently. I’ve been kind of busy but I should get that going again.

I installed windows 2000 last night. My internet is running up to speed again so I’m happy. From what i’ve seen so far it looks like a pretty good system, better than 98.

All i can say is that i love my ethernet connection right now.
This was an entry I tried to post earlier today, but my internet screwed up:
I finished my computer assignment late last night, around 2 o’clock. It was due at midnite. I walked across campus to goodwin hall to drop it off and found that the doors were locked. Other times there has been newspaper in the door’s to prevent them from locking. I was with another guy and he decided to start tossing some rocks at a window that had a light on in it. Someone was there, they opened the door and we got our assignments in before they emptied the boxes. Then there was a fire drill at 6:15 this morning. Yea! Less than four hours sleep, wake up. I went back upstairs and slept for another hour or so.

A guy came in today while I was out and tried to fix the internet. It’s still going slow, I’ll test it out tomorrow morning and see if there’s just heavy traffic tonite. A microsoft parody.

It was nice to come home for the weekend. I get back here and find my high speed connection is still slower than my dial-up at home. The upload is fine, download is horrible, I hope they fix it home.
I watched U-571 last night. It wasn’t a bad movie. I still haven’t seen Das Boot, I’ve been meaning too but it’s always out. No comparison’s between the two movies anyway. U-571 was pretty good, lots of good camera work, a lot of the scenes were pretty tense, overall I liked it. There were a few cheesy moments, the music didn’t fit the movie that well and the ending was kind of abrupt and fell off. It was still worth watching.

I came back friday night for thanksgiving weekend, headin back up to kingston on monday. Haven’t done much since I’ve been here. Hanging out with friends, bought some shoes and boots. I’ll try and get some reading done today.

I just finished up my first test. Calculus mastery test. I think i did alright on it, other people seemed to be getting the same answers as me. The questions were harder than the practice test they gave us. Maybe they weren’t any harder, they just gave us numbers that you got weird answers for, it makes you think you did something wrong. I got my first computer assignment back yesterday, I got 5/5. Also got the first algebra assignment back today, got 10/10 on that. So far i’m doing pretty good. Now I have to get to work on another algebra assignment that’s due tomorrow. Then the economics one that’s due on friday.

Holy shit, the internet access in the labs is so much faster than the res. Resnet chokes during the day and at night, the only good time to download stuff is during the day. I’m sitting in my computer tutorial right now, trying to figure out what the hell i’m doing. The labwork they gave us shouldnt have been given to us this week. We haven’t been taught the required material, it also wants us to be finished assignment 3, but we just got that today. We handed in assignment 2 last night. Bah, back to work.

A bit of mad programming today. I was working on my computer assignment, made a program to figure out the thermal expansion of various metals and a program to convert celsius into farenheit and vice-versa. It’s kind of a bastard trying to get these things to work, when you’re testing it, but 0 degrees celsius and it tells you the temperature in farenheit is infinity, you know you have a problem. All fixed up now though, I just have to do the documentation for the programs and I’m done the assignment.
Tried installing a bunch of different things last night. Had corel linux on the computer for awhile. It didn’t like being in a partition above the 8gb mark though, so i ended up deleting it. Then I installed BeOS. It installed well, detected my video card and network card alright, I think my soundcard is kind of sketchy. It figured out the card was by creative but it wouldnt play any sounds. I have to figure out the network settings for the queen’s servers so I can connect from be. For some reason it wouldnt detect automatically. Watched fight club again last night.
